During the past few years, some of our properties, including my home, have been visited by The Nine-banded Armadillo. They have a habit of digging a hole around the foundation of the house. If they remove too much dirt from under a concrete foundation over time, there is a small possibility that the foundation may crack.
We have found the best way to get rid of an armadillo is to by filling the hole with a mixture of dirt, rocks, and mothballs. Constantly filling the holes will often prevent them from returning.
It’s really hard to capture an armadillo with a trap cage. There is no bait you can use for armadillos because armadillos like to forage for their dinner.
Avoid handling or touching the animals. Even though the risk of transmission to humans is low, Armadillos are the only other animals besides humans that can carry leprosy.
This quick fix worked for me and few of my other RPM South Orlando properties.
